Ben Bowsher has informed the Board of CARES that, due to ill health, he is to stand down from his position of CEO with immediate effect. With great regret the Board has agreed to this.

Les Clark, Chairman of CARES, said "We will greatly miss Ben's contribution to CARES and the construction industry as a whole. He played an instrumental role in developing CARES as an internationally recognised product certification body in his 22 years as Chief Executive Officer. We wish him well with his retirement and will stay in close touch with him."

Ben first joined CARES as an auditor in 1987 and worked through various managerial positions within the organization to become its Executive Director in 1993 and CEO from 2012. He also served on a number of key UK and European international certification and accreditation committees.

The Board has asked Lee Brankley to continue in his role as Acting Chief Executive Officer until the formal appointment of Ben's successor. Ben wishes CARES, and Lee and all his team at CARES every success in the future.
