HS2 asks all suppliers to specify responsible sourcing standards and references CARES Sustainable Constructional Steels Certification.

Expectations of HS2 suppliers include ensuring they meet specified responsible sourcing standards and certifications and providing appropriate evidence. To validate that materials are responsibly sourced, HS2 also require that assurance of information is undertaken.

The information provided in HS2’s recently published ‘Supply Chain FAQ’; references CARES Sustainable Constructional Steel Scheme.

As a third party, independent, accredited scheme covering ethical, social, environmental, and economic management and performance of the constructional steels supply chain, CARES' SCS fulfils all of these requirements.
