ISO 9001 2015 has recently been published to replace the 2008 version. This standard acts as the basis for all steelmill and fabricator approvals, as well as CARES technical approvals and post-tensioning activities.

All CARES-approved companies will need to undergo a transition to the 2015 standard during the course of 2016/17. CARES itself will be undergoing a change in its accreditation to allow it to certify companies to the new Quality Management Systems standard.

CARES expects to be able to begin certifying companies to the new standard during the course of 2016 and an exact timetable will be published in due course.

What do you need to do now?

At this stage you need to be aware of the significant changes involved in the standard and start to prepare your organisation.

Details about the new standard are available on the ISO website. We also recommend that you purchase a copy of the standard and ensure your personnel are aware of the changes required and your quality management personnel undergo suitable training.
